Employment History

  • Putlands
    Veterinary Surgery

Jo spent six years working as a Receptionist / Small Animal Veterinary Nurse in the Putlands practice in Paddock Wood. She then progressed on to Large Animal Veterinary Nursing which included work such as general care during admission to the practice, assisting during surgical procedures, administering medication and cleaning the animals.

  • RSPCA Animal Centre South Godstone

After Putlands Jo moved to the RSPCA Animal Centre in South Godstone. Here she cared for animals that had come into the centre due to cases of cruelty or abandonment. She worked with the animals to rehabilitate them so they could be rehomed as well as tending to their general health care and living conditions.

While working at the RSPCA centre Jo came across a wide variety of animals such as cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chickens/cockerels, ducks, chinchillas, hamsters, rats, mice, gerbils, degus, a variety of birds, corn snakes, bearded dragons, goldfish, terrapins and tortoises, and of course our wonderful wildlife such as hedgehogs, pigeons, crows, squirrels, and more.

Jo is always interested to learn about other animals
and to take on new challanges.
