Jo started Aardvarks to Zebras in 2013 and has since gone on to expand the business with the help of some amazing people along the way. After a few years of having a helping hand or two, Jo is currently flying solo again for the moment.

Jo has been into animal care from a very early age. She has always had pets at home and was thrilled to be able to complete an NVQ Level 2 in Animal Care in a gap year between Sixth Form and University. While studying at Hadlow College she completed a three year Animal Management degree with the University of Greenwich.

Jo then went on to spend six years working as a Receptionist / Small Animal Veterinary Nurse in Putlands Veterinary Surgery in Paddock Wood. She then progressed on to Large Animal Veterinary Nursing, which included work such as general care during admission to the practice, assisting during surgical procedures, administering medication and cleaning the animals.

After Putlands Jo moved to the RSPCA Animal Centre in South Godstone. Here she cared for animals that had come into the centre due to cases of cruelty or abandonment. She worked with the animals to rehabilitate them so they could be rehomed as well as tending to their general health care and living conditions.
